Hibernians, Premier Champions for the 12th time, rounded off their season with a crushing 6-1 victory against neighbours Tarxien in front of a packed Ta’Qali stadium.
Assured of the title following last week’s win against St Andrews, Hibs showed their intent from the opening minutes as they pressed forward in search of goals. They duly arrived with Degabriele grabbing a hat-trick inside the opening twenty minutes.
Jorghino made it 4-0 to give Hibernians commanding lead at half-time.
It was more of the same after the break with Hibs pushing forward and Tarxien doing their best to halt the non-stop assualt on their goal.
It became 5-0 when Lima thumped home from close range.
Taxien did manage a consolation goal, converting a penalty with five minutes remaining but the final florish came from the new champions when Gilmar unleashed a fierce long range shot.
