Man City top Premiership

Manchester City thumped five past a ten-man Liverpool to go top of the English Premiership for now at least.

Liverpool were already trailing to an Aguero goal when Kante was sent off for a tackle on City keeper Ederson who required lengthy treatment for a facial injury. City made the visitors pay for the dismissal of Kante, adding a second before the break and three more in the second half. The win lifts them to the top of the table but their arch rivals Manchester United, a point behind, play Stoke later this evening.

Chelsea beat Leicester 2-1 to go third, above a battling Watford who beat Southampton 2-0.

Fifth placed Tottenham romped to a 3-0 win at Everton and Arsenal, who were demolished by Liverpool two weeks ago returened to winning ways with a 3-0 victory against Bournemouth.
